Our work in this area draws on the expertise of Artistic Director Michael Rohd, whose book Theatre for Community, Conflict and Dialogue, is used as a text internationally.

In residencies with communities, universities, school districts and conferences around the nation, we use Sojourn’s unique methodology of developing and generating material to build performances, teach master classes and share methods for community engagement. Some residencies surround existing touring productions; sometimes, the work created is new. Always, it is specific, evocative and connected to place and people.
